David Vávra's exhibition project is going to present twenty of the most significant industrial landmarks and historical technical buildings located in Prague 4: four precious examples of five architectural purposes (water and gas treatment buildings, brewing industry, bridges, other transportation constructions, factories).
Some of them don't serve their purpose anymore, yet their appearance completes the urban picture of the city, they have belonged into and inspired the lives of generations. The exhibits are accompanied by occasional poetry in the typical lighthearted and hyperbolic yet fervent style of David Vávra, an architect and a Prague 4 native and patriot. His poems complete the colorful pictures by Pavel Frič, our best photographer of industrial architecture, and the explanatory texts by Vladimíra Valchářová.
The exhibition will be held in the Arkády Pankrác Shopping Centre under the auspices of the Prague 4 City Hall to celebrate the 5th International Biennial Vestiges of Industry.
